He Did Heal Them, Every One.

After Rachael was pulled from the wreckage of a devastating car accident, she was told in a priesthood blessing that she would be healed as she lay in a coma. However, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years of surgeries, setbacks, and scars. Had God not fulfilled His promise? He Did Heal Them Every One, follows Rachael’s remarkable journey toward healing, weaving her experience with scriptural accounts of Christ’s healing power. Each section explores a different way the Savior fulfills His promise through doctrinal insights and personal application. Written for those who have prayed for healing but still carry pain, this book offers a compassionate perspective: that healing often comes in layers, that Christ’s healing power is available to us in our struggles and not just after. Healing is deeply individualized and can be recognized in ways that may differ from our expectations, yet are no less miraculous.

My dad and grandpa met me in the room. Because of the spiritual nature of their visit, the medical staff adjusted the two-person limit and allowed Rachael’s dad, my dad, my grandpa, and me to all be in the room. Limiting her brain activity was vital to her survival at this point, so they asked that she not be touched. To comply, my dad and grandpa hovered their hands over her head to give her the blessing. The words they spoke and the feeling in the room were palpable, even to Rachael’s father. A blessing of healing was pronounced upon her and a promise that “the effects of this accident would only be known to those who have known you before.” It was simultaneously powerful and hard to believe. Looking at this unrecognizable human shell of my friend, it was difficult to try to wrap my brain around the enormity of this blessing! Would no one be able to tell? Would the effects be minimal? I knew miracles were real, but how could this be possible?

About the author

Shawntae Berry

Shawntae Berry is currently a labor and delivery nurse who is passionate about physiologic birth and women’s health. Through her professional work, she has supported individuals and families during some of life’s most vulnerable and sacred moments, which has shaped her understanding of healing as both a physical and spiritual process.

She is a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This book grew out of years of noticing how we often expect the Savior’s promises to unfold, and how they actually do. Shawntae holds a deep belief in Christ’s promises and makes an effort to pay attention to the small, steady ways those promises are fulfilled in everyday life.

Shawntae is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of four fun teenagers whom she loves spending time with. She lives in Colorado, where life is busy, sometimes chaotic, and always full. She is notoriously always cold and therefore loves all things heated. When she’s not working or studying, she enjoys yoga, traveling, puzzles, and red vines. She is always grateful for the little ordinary family moments that make life feel rich and meaningful.
